True style comes from the perfect combination of classic and modern, the creative
mix of old and new and masculine and feminine. With this in mind, Rabens Saloner
looked at timeless elements of a woman’s wardrobe - activewear, a tailored suit, a trench coat - and reworked the details and silhouettes into new, exciting pieces that retain the integrity of much-loved favourites, but which are seen through the lens of a truly contemporary eye.

Using a base palette of sophisticated shades of petrol, teal, onyx and aluminium grey, highlights of peony, shocking pink, purple and mint add vibrancy and energy. Stripes - ranging from elegant men’s pinstripes to hand-painted block colours - pervade the collection, riffing on a mainstay of many classic wardrobes. A traditional chalk-stripe suit comes unexpectedly with a matching bra top instead of waistcoat whereas wispy knitwear features blurred vertical blocks of colour. Elsewhere, wide brushstrokes are painted by hand across jersey dresses, twill coats and bodysuits— a radical and graphic reimagining
of trademark tie dye techniques.

Outerwear sees classic tropes of much-loved trench coats worked into half-bomber hybrids and puffer jackets exaggerated into voluminous coats and A-line body warmers. Accessories pick up on the same motifs with quilted bags, oversized plaited handles and even a padded headscarf. Elsewhere, outerwear comes inside with recycled nylon used as mackintosh-inspired buttoned skirts, kagoul smock tops (with matching shorts) and even an edgy version of a cocktail dress.

Tie dye is an integral part of the Rabens Saloner world and this season it appears as a multi-shade, all-over design that is easy in a relaxed pair of pants and sexy in a ruched dress. For evening, layer a see-through cobweb dress over a bodysuit or demand attention with shocking pink plissé tunic and pants for a totally contemporary take on party wear.

Finally, a series of footwear, ranging from flat soled pointed chelsea boots to tall riding boots and heavy soled chunky versions adds a tomboy touch to even the most feminine of outfits. After all, down to the last detail, subverting the classics is the road to
truly showing your individuality.
